Herman & Associates provides individual psychotherapy and assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Our team of professionals assist  individuals, couples, and families in Southern California with developmental, educational, attentional, emotional, and transition challenges throughout  the life span.  Our multidisciplinary team of professionals is here to help with academic, personal, and life transition issues. We specialize in psychothreapy and assessment.

Psychotherapy / Counseling

Psychotherapy provides individuals, adolescents, couples, and families with the opportunity to meet on a regular basis with a psychologist in a supportive therapeutic environment.

Assessment

Assessment and psychological testing provide information useful in understanding the role of inattention, learning disabilities, or emotional issues in underperformance or maladaptive behavior.  It offers the opportunity to quickly gather information about present concerns, consider a diagnosis, and formulate a treatment plan.

Our psychoeducational assessments can be designed to meet or exceed the testing criteria for many types of standardized exams, including the ISEE, HSPT, SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, California State Bar Exam, MCAT, Medical Exam , GMAT, MAT, DAT, PCAT, OAT, Nursing Exam, Pharmacy Exam, Dental Exam, among others.

We provide thorough documentation for testing accommodations.

Our Team

Our expert team is well published in the field and have presented at numerous local, national, and international conferences on learning disabilities, ADHD, and autistic spectrum disorders.

Jessica Hess, Ph.D., Clinical Director

Dr. Hess is the Clinical Director of Herman & Associates.  She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology in 2005. Dr. Hess is a licensed psychologist in the State of California (#PSY21552) and has developed specialties in working with girls, adolsecents/teens, and women dealing with depression and/or anxieth.  She has extensive experience in working with men and women struggling with substance abuse and addiction issues.

Kenneth L. Herman, Ph.D., CEO

Dr. Herman is the CEO of Herman & Associates, earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1988. He is both a Licensed Psychologist (#PSY10916) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#MN24462) and has over twenty years of clinical and assessment experience. He has published many professional articles and spoken at numerous local, national, and international conferences.

Patricia Sullivan, M.Ed., M.S., Director

Ms. Sullivan received a Master of Education in Special Education in 1976 and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2005. She has worked in the classrooms of both public and private schools and is the former Principal of a school serving students with special needs. She has developed both curricula and programs to meet the needs of students with emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, and attention disorders. She has lectured nationally and internationally on subjects related to learning disabilities, ADHD and transition issues. She is the Education Specialist and Director of Herman & Associates.

Locations

We are located in both South Pasadena and the Santa Clarita Valley.  We serve the entire Los Angeles/Southern California area.  If you live outside of Southern California, please inquire about our out of State fly-in assessment program.
